The surprise news that Batgirl wouldn't be getting a release is still shocking for those involved, as the film had already been shot and was deep into post-production. If released, the film would have featured Ivory Aquino as Alysia Yeoh, best friend to Leslie Grace's Barbara Gordon. It would have marked the first time an openly trans character was featured in a live-action DC movie.
