In the new DC film Shazam! Fury of the Gods, many unexpected changes will occur, which deviate from the previous film in the franchise titled Shazam! One of the most significant differences is that Mary Bromfield and her alter ego, Mary Marvel, will be played by one and not two actresses, making her the only hero in Shazam! Fury of the Gods to not have an alternate actress/actor. According to CBR, the film's director David F. Sandberg stated that the character's transformation will be aided by makeup to show a distinction between the two versions of Mary.
