Despite opening among Oppenheimer and the new Mission Impossible film, Barbie is set to be one of the biggest hits of July and the whole Summer. It's surprising, considering the source material, but even the haters have had to admit that Barbie seems like an anomaly and will be much more than anyone could've expected. Far from a toy company cash grab, Barbie is directed by acclaimed actor and auteur Greta Gerwig and co-written with her partner, yet another heavily lauded auteur, Noah Baumbach.
