After sweeping the last awards season thanks to films like Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Whale and Aftersun, A24 wants to mix its independent productions with more commercial ones such as action films, to recover some of the money they lost due to titles like Beau is Afraid. Since its creation in 2010 by Daniel Katz, David Fenkel, and John Hodges, A24 has been one of the production companies that has tried the most to bring other types of stories to the big screen, betting on new directors, scriptwriters and actors, with not-so-conventional scripts, low-budget productions, but in many cases with big celebrities at the helm to attract enough audiences to raise enough money to continue producing movies.
