Fans couldn’t seem to get enough of Barbie in 2023. Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster opened last July alongside Christopher Nolan’s Golden Globes-darling, Oppenheimer. Not only was the Barbenheimer phenomenon born, but all the bright-pink tumblers clicked into place. Barbie became the highest-grossing movie worldwide in 2023 with $1.44 billion. But actress Margot Robbie admits the film could have just as easily been a flop had its theatrical release come at a different time. Robbie said in an interview with Deadline:
