Long before RuPauls Drag Race, there was The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The 1994 comedy became an instant crowd-pleaser, following two drag queens (Guy Pearce, Hugo Weaving) and a transgender woman (Terence Stamp) as they travel across the desert Outback to perform their eye-popping cabaret act. Years later, the film, written and directed by Stephan Elliott, would find its way to Broadway with a new title: Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical.
